About the award

“Retailer of the Year – Suppliers’ choice” award” goes to retail and wholesale formats of retail and wholesale chains operating on the Polish market which FMCG producers find the best business partners and is the only award given to retail and wholesale networks by their vendors and not by consumers.. In the next edition of the award, the survey leading to selection of winners in each category will be again conducted by AC Nielsen, a reputable research company on a representative sample of FMCG producers.

Organizer The „Retailer of the Year 2017. Suppliers’ choice” survey is organized by Blue Business Media Ltd., with its head office in Warsaw (01-222), Prądzyńskiego 12/14 street, entered in the Register of Entrepreneurs, kept by District Court for the capital of city of Warsaw, XII Economic Department on National Court Register under KRS: 0000325306, NIP: 7010167656, hereinafter referred to as Blue Business Media.

Methodology

Blue Business Media is cooperating with research company ACNielsen Polska Sp. z o.o. Postępu 15B street, Warsaw (02-676) entered in the Register of Entrepreneurs, kept by District Court for the capital of city of Warsaw, XII Economic Department on National Court Register under NIP: 5260004753 Numer KRS: 0000022140 hereinafter referred to as Nielsen, to conduct an independent and objective research among suppliers of the different retail formats. In total 2154 individuals involved in relationships in year 2017 with trade companies working for 861 suppliers will be in the period between 24.01.2017 and 17.02.2017 invited to fill out an online questionnaire (further referred to as award respondents). Questions are answered on the following evaluation criteria with regards to the cooperation between supplier and retail chain;

  • What network types and/or format did you work within 2017?
  • What networks/chains did you work within 2017?
  • Create a ranking on a scale from 1 to 100 of chain stores collaboration areas, with top scoring given to those which are the most important from your point of view
    • The image
      Chain’s promotional activities, innovation, aesthetics of shopping areas,marketing materials – external impression
    • Business development collaboration – marketing, category management
      Joint business development planning, performance reviews, joint strategy concepts, jointly organized promotional campaigns
    • Contacts with the counterpart of your team from the chain
      Easiness of contact, the degree of decision-making of team members, providing information about the changes, timeliness and reliability.
    • Logistics
      Flexible delivery dates, order and returns management, invoices.
    • Commercial terms and conditions.
      The conditions and terms of payment, prices.
  • Indicate your satisfaction on a scale from 1 to 100 from the below-listed cooperation areas for each network/ chain you worked with in 2017.
    • The image
      Chain’s promotional activities, innovation, aesthetics of shopping areas,marketing materials – external impression
    • Business development collaboration – marketing, category management
      Joint business development planning, performance reviews, joint strategy concepts, jointly organized promotional campaigns
    • Contacts with the counterpart of your team from the chain
      Easiness of contact, the degree of decision-making of team members, providing information about the changes, timeliness and reliability.

For each quoted Retailer, on the basis of the level of satisfaction, an average score will be generated taking into account the importance of the different categories as identified by the respondent. Winner of „Retailer of the Year 2017. Suppliers’ choice” in a specific category is a retail chain that obtains the highest average score among other retail chains in a specific category. Winner of “Retailer of the Year 2017. Suppliers’ Choice” is a retail chain that obtains the highest average score among all retail chains, that were evaluated by respondents. The questions will be answered for those Retail Chains the respondent was involved with in year 2017. Each respondent has a choice of five commercial chains in each evaluated category, with whom co-operation in the year 2017 was the most beneficial.

Confidentiality

The answers of the respondents will be processed anonymously and only published in summarized formats without referring in any way to individual respondents.

Additional rules

Each individual invited to become a respondent can make only one judgment. Individuals not invited to become a respondent cannot make a judgment, nevertheless they can make a request to become a respondent by sending an e-mail to: retailawards@bluebusinessmedia.com. Blue Business Media deserves the right to refuse such a request.

Handing out the Awards

The winners will be announced at a special award ceremony on March 13, 2018 during the Poland & CEE Retail Summit 2018. Winners will obtain a special statute and the right to carry the logo “Retailer of the Year 2017, Suppliers choice”

Liability of the organizer

The organizer and the independent Research Company Nielsen cannot be held liable for damage that may incur or can be claimed to incur as a result of participation in the competition or receipt of the award.
